It is most commonly performed procedure .it is required when nerve tissue inside the teeth degenerates.thus an infection will be caused which leads to formation of an abscess.

A root canal therapy is needed when the nerve inside tooth is involved causing you pain.sometimes the pain appears discoloured and becomes sensitive to heat or cold. In such case the doctor will need to remove the infected pulp.

The procedure takes place in four steps .First ,the dentist administers local anaesthesia .then the dentist removes the inflamed nerve tisuue .then the canal opening is then sealed to prevent food debris from entering . in the third step the canal is filled with gutta percha and finally a crown or cap is placed on the tooth which helps in chewing normally.
