Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom teeth are recommended to be removed if they

  • Are impacted or erupt in the wrong direction.
  • Cause pain and swelling by pushing themselves up in a minimal space and apply pressure or destroy adjacent teeth.
  • Deep pockets around them create areas for bacterial and food to collect.
  • Cavities develop around tooth
  • Wisdom teeth crowd other teeth and cause pain and swelling especially when they push themselves up the jaw bone and gumtissue where there is less space for it to erupt .thus damaging adjacent teeth and causing deep pockets around the healthy adjacent teeth.
  • Cavities tend to form on the roots of those teeth due to food impaction.

In such cases removal of wisdom tooth is ideal.
